Infrasturcture Overview

Siddaganga ShivaKumara Swamiji (SSK) Degree College provides the best infrastructure facilities to a large number of students who join in various courses. The college has ICT enabled classrooms, facilities for sports and games, library, auditorium, an observatory, along with recreational and hygiene spaces. Our college has fully fledged Canteen. A dedicated examination wing spread over two floors with ample working space for teaching staff. Class rooms are spacious with ample natural light and ventilation.

A. Library And Information

Library is the place of knowledge open for academicians and students. Our College library comprises of predominately literature on Business Management, Commerce, General Management, Marketing, HR, Finance, Accounting, Business Statistics, Languages, Journals and useful magazines related to Business, Corporate, etc. Our library at Siddaganga ShivaKumara Swamiji (SSK) Degree College has various academic resources such as books, journals, periodicals, reference books, and competitive books. Library Working Hours Monday to Friday : 8:45 a.m to 3:45 p.m Saturday : 8:45 a.m to 1:00 p.m

B. 1. Classrooms

Spacious and well ventilated classrooms are provided for excellent audible environment. Classrooms are equipped with modern teaching aids to support, enhance and optimize the delivery of lecturers. The classrooms are equipped with ICT facility. Comfortable seating arrangements are provided to the students where learning takes place uninterrupted.

B. 2. Auditorium & Seminar Hall

The campus has a posh auditorium with the latest audio, video and public addressing system. This auditorium are used in several occasions starting with Fresher’s party, Felicitations, Alumni events, committee events, graduation ceremony, students training programs, faculty development programs and many other activities are conducted carrying lots of memories throughout the year with a smart seating arrangements for 200 students.

“Run when you can, walk if you have to, crawl if you must, just never give up” - Dean Karnazel Sports and games enable students to lead a life of fitness and helps students in overall development. College conducts various interclass, indoor and outdoor sports events. Interclass sports competitions are held to encourage students to participate in sports and games which helps student in developing team work, decision making skills. College also hosts Inter-collegiate tournaments for various indoor and outdoor events.

“Health is a state of body, wellness is a state of being” - J. Stanford Our college health club vision is to develop healthy life style for students and staff. In this regard Ayush every years organizes Health checkup camp, blood Donation camp, Eye screening Camp in association with Lions club, Fortis hospital, Divya Drishti etc.,

C. 3. Canteen “AKSHYA”

Siddaganga ShivaKumara Swamiji (SSK) Degree College canteen is fully fledged canteen which caters hygienic and sumptuous meals in Indian style. Quick snacks and fresh fruit juice counters are also available in the canteen. Considering a large number of students who depend on canteen, food is served at subsidized rates.

D. 1. Counseling Centre & Mentorship “SARATHI”

Counseling emphasis on students concern and they can discuss the solutions for their confidential mental stress/health. College has a certified counselor, who offers counseling and support staff & students. The counseling service is strictly confidential.
College has unique continuous mentoring program for students during their academic life in the institution. The endeavors of each student are guided by a mentor assigned by the college. The responsibilities of mentors often go beyond academic activities and encourage students on various aspects of his/her life.

D. 2. Career Guidance & Placement Cell “MERITORIUM”

“Develop a mentor at each stage of your Career – someone who will give you guidance and advice” - Brain Tracy Placement cell takes care of all the on campus, as well as off campus placement activities for the Final year students. Placement cell constantly train the students by organising the seminar/workshop by corporate personnel's to bridge the gap between academic and corporate . Meritorium cell is proud to announce that many of our young minds are placed in TCS, Accenture and You Plus, Advent Global Technologies, Amazon etc.,

D. 3. Scholarship

Students are encouraged to apply for scholarship through online, if they fulfill the required criteria. With the help of Student Welfare Association, which constantly guide students towards processing of scholarship. Such as Arivu, SSP, NSP and others.

D. 4. Grievance Redressal Committee

The Grievance Redressal cell of the college was constituted on April 2018 with seven members to probe into the student grievance. It redresses the grievances at individual level and grievances of common interest of classes. The cell maintains a conducive and unprejudiced educational environment. Complaints of the students and parents are redressed. All complaints are scrutinized by the mentors, counselor and the cell members.

The complaint management mechanism is carried out in three levels in the college:

Depending on the seriousness of the problem, the issues are settled by the cell or by the principal in consultation with other members of the cell, parents and faculty. The collective efforts of the principal, department heads, class teachers, various staff co-ordinators. Grievance Redressal cell resolve the complaints promptly and efficiently. The effective complaint management mechanism improves better stakeholder relationship and contentment.
The college has a support cell keeping in mind the welfare and to extend continuous help to the students. The college strictly implements the smooth functioning of the student support cells. The committee gives the rights to approach to every single student to address their grievance.

D. 5. Attendance Committee

Our attendance committee monitors student’s attendances monthly. Students progress can be achieved by making them to attend regular classes. Students’ dedication, discipline, learning attitude and acquiring knowledge by attending regular classes helps them for their successful career. In the beginning of every academic year students compulsorily should submit the declaration form to maintain minimum 75% attendance to appear for the University examination. Parents/Guardians are requested to meet the respective teachers with regard to regularity of their wards attending classes and their academic performance.

D. 6. Parent Council

The Parent council is a forum for parents to address their concerns and voice their suggestions in the overall development of the students. The council actively engages with the faculty members and comes up with suggestions for improvement in all the areas of the students’ life in college.
